Playdate is set to receive a fresh collection of games soon. Panic has announced the initial details for the handheld’s upcoming season 2, which will feature 12 new games released from May 29th to July 3rd, with two new titles launching each week. The entire season is priced at $39.
When the Playdate first debuted in 2022, it similarly included a selection of games from notable developers, released incrementally over time. The concept was for all Playdate owners to receive these mystery games simultaneously on a weekly basis throughout the season. However, shipping delays disrupted this plan. For the second season, Panic aims to achieve the original concept while teasing “a must-see surprise for those seeking something a little different.”
Alongside announcing the season 2 schedule and pricing, Panic has also unveiled four of the games that will be part of the lineup. Additionally, they introduced a new yellow case for the handheld, which is available for order now at $34.
