“We’ve engaged in numerous discussions with Epic regarding potential collaborations,” said Marc Merrill, co-creator of League of Legends and co-chairman of Riot Games, on X (formerly known as Twitter) on April 17. This statement was made in response to recurring inquiries about their partnership. “Epic has been an excellent partner, but unfortunately, we haven’t found a suitable way to reintroduce the Arcane skins, and it won’t be happening anytime soon.”
Skins in Fortnite depicting Jinx and Vi from Arcane were initially introduced in Chapter 2: Season 8, coinciding with the show’s release on Netflix in late 2021. As is customary with Fortnite cosmetics, the Arcane items were periodically available in the in-game shop until they were permanently removed in February 2022. Fans have frequently asked both Epic and Riot about their return, seemingly leading to Merrill’s recent statement.
Merrill further explained, “Our initial collaboration with Epic to introduce Jinx and Vi to Fortnite was a groundbreaking crossover for us, and we hope it contributed to the excitement surrounding the launch of [season one]. We’re grateful for the overwhelming support and enthusiasm from fans. Rest assured, if anything changes, we’ll update you as soon as possible!”
The second and final season of Arcane aired in November 2024. Meanwhile, Fortnite continues to integrate various intellectual properties.
