Nintendo postponed its pre-order for the Switch 2 consoles from April 9 following the announcement of tariffs by the Trump administration on April 2, coinciding with the first Nintendo Direct event dedicated to the Switch 2. Pre-orders for both the console and the launch bundle, which includes a digital edition of Mario Kart World, will be available starting April 24. Contrary to speculation about a price increase due to these tariffs, Nintendo confirmed on Thursday that the pricing will stay at $449.99 for the console alone and $499.99 for the Mario Kart World bundle. The official launch date for the Switch 2 is still set for June 5.
