On Thursday, Remedy Entertainment revealed that their new three-player cooperative shooter, FBC: Firebreak, set in the Remedy Extended Universe, is set to launch globally on June 17. The announcement was made during a livestream on Remedy’s Twitch and YouTube channels, showcasing live gameplay of the “Paper Chase” mission along with a new mission called “Hot Fix.”
The game takes place six years after the events of 2019’s Control, placing players in the roles of first responders navigating the challenging dimensions of the Oldest House as they battle to survive against an onslaught from the Hiss, a supernatural force responsible for possessing many of the former staff of the Federal Bureau of Control.
FBC: Firebreak is crafted to be an accessible cooperative shooter that invites players, regardless of their previous experience with Control or the Remedy Extended Universe, to join forces with friends or AI companions to combat supernatural threats.
A key feature of this game is the Requisitions system, which rewards players with new gear and cosmetics simply for playing. Players can unlock an array of items, including weapons, equipment, armor, and sprays, all available for in-game currency earned through missions—accessible at any time without any limited-time offers or rotations.
For those interested in further customization, FBC: Firebreak offers “Classified Requisitions,” which allow players to purchase premium cosmetic items such as armor sets, voice packs, and weapon skins using real money. It’s important to note that these items are purely cosmetic, ensuring that there’s no pay-to-win element involved.
Remedy has also confirmed plans for continued support after launch, including the release of two new “Jobs” (missions) set for 2025. All post-launch content will be free for all players.
