OpenAI, the organization behind ChatGPT, has expressed its willingness to acquire Google Chrome if a U.S. court mandates its sale.

This unexpected declaration came from OpenAI’s Head of Product, Nick Turley, during testimony at a significant antitrust trial in Washington D.C. The U.S. Department of Justice has already asserted that Google possesses illegal monopolies in both the search and digital advertising sectors.

Currently, the court is deliberating on the appropriate remedy, with the sale of Chrome being one of the possibilities.

“Yes, we would,” Turley responded when asked whether OpenAI would consider acquiring Chrome.
