Blue Prince has resolved its PlayStation 5 save file issue following a patch released by Raw Fury on Thursday. Tonda Ros, the director and creator of Blue Prince, shared the patch notes for update 1.04.5, which tackles a persistent bug reported by the game’s Reddit community that arises around day 100, preventing players from saving their progress.
According to the patch notes, this glitch has been identified as the “PlayStation 5 save rollback issue,” which stems from a duplication of save data that leads to new save information timing out and failing to be saved.
With the implementation of this fix, Ros reassured players that they should no longer face any “issues progressing and saving the game past the point where the bug was initially encountered.” Unfortunately, any progress lost due to the bug will not be recoverable, and players will return to Mount Holly at the time when the bug first occurred.
The patch also addresses other bugs that made players lose steps, obstructed entry into the highest rank, and resolved several spoiler-related issues.
Ros emphasized that a definitive version of the game is expected to be realized with the upcoming 1.10 patch.
Patch 1.10 is anticipated to include new features and updates such as “an overhyped arcade game, a curious house cat, accessibility options like color assist mode, control remapping, cursor size and opacity settings, and widescreen support. There will also be UI/UX improvements, more variations in end-of-day manor descriptions with illustrative updates, HUD display customization, balancing adjustments for rooms/items, and additional cinematics, including unique openings and endings for unlockable challenge modes!”
