Anticipation Grows as Three New DJI Drones Are...

DJI appears to be gearing up for the launch of three new drones in the upcoming months: the Mini 5 Pro, Avata 3, and Neo 2, as reported by DroneXL. The site has shared leaked images and video of these drones, along with an FCC filing that hints at the development of a new action camera named the DJI Osmo Nano.

DroneXL also released a video showcasing two drones that could potentially be successors to the Avata 2 and the charming DJI Neo. The outlet points out several distinctions, including the fact that the Avata 3’s battery is positioned further back and features a larger camera unit at the front. Additionally, this model uses four-blade propellers compared to the three-blade configuration of the Avata 2. Next to the Avata 3, there’s what appears to be a Neo 2 prototype, although not much more can be discerned except for its redesigned propeller guards when compared to the original.

Yesterday, DroneXL referred to a new FCC filing that provided some details regarding the anticipated Mini 5 Pro. This filing indicates that the Mini 5 Pro will feature an impressive 33.5Wh battery, a significant upgrade from the Mini 4 Pro’s 18.9Wh. The outlet also mentions that the wireless transmission specifications support speculation that it could stream video from distances of up to 25 kilometers (15.5 miles), which is 5 kilometers farther than its predecessor. This range brings it closer to the DJI Mavic 4 Pro, which was not initially expected to be released in the US but somehow made its way here. (We would be curious to know the reason, but DJI has not commented on this.) The Mini 5 Pro is anticipated to be released in September.

Completing DroneXL’s rumor report is a recently published FCC filing for the DJI Osmo Nano, a new wearable action camera that seems to feature a modular display similar to that of the Action line. The outlet also notes that DJI is expected to introduce a Mic 3 and an Osmo 360 camera, though no solid launch dates are currently available.
