Renowned voice actor Yuri Lowenthal recently made headlines on his Bluesky account by revealing that he will not be reprising his iconic role as Yosuke in the upcoming remake of Persona 4, a project that had not been officially confirmed until his announcement.
He stated, “And for those who keep asking, no, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake. I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back.” This unexpected revelation seems to catch everyone off guard, especially Atlus’ PR team.
Speculation regarding a Persona 4 remake has been circulating for some time; with Persona 3 Reload launching in 2024, it seems logical that a remake of the next installment in the series would follow. Additionally, Persona 3 Reload introduced new voice actors for its lead roles, making it plausible that similar changes would occur in Persona 4.
Polygon has reached out to both Atlus and Lowenthal for further comments and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
