Blink, Amazon’s budget-friendly security camera brand, has introduced the second generation of its widely acclaimed video doorbell. This new Blink Video Doorbell features a comprehensive head-to-toe viewing angle and enhanced video resolution. Notably, it now provides alerts specifically for human presence at your door, rather than being set off by just passing cats or strong winds. The doorbell is paired with a simplified hub called the Sync Module Core, which is now necessary for operation, unlike the first-generation model.
The latest doorbell from Blink remains competitively priced, retailing at $59.99 without the hub and $69.99 with it. In comparison, Ring, Blink’s sister brand, offers a battery-powered doorbell starting at $99, which claims a battery life of only six to twelve months, while Blink’s latest model boasts an impressive two-year battery life, powered by its custom silicon technology.
