Amy Lee is enjoying a remarkable year. To start, Evanescence’s “Bring Me To Life” became a recurring theme in HBO’s The Rehearsal, when Nathan Fielder suggested that an airplane pilot might have played the iconic 2003 rock anthem during a challenging landing. Now, the song is in the spotlight again, featured in the new trailer for FromSoftware’s upcoming co-op action game, Elden Ring Nightreign, which brings a twist reminiscent of Fortnite. This pairing is both dramatic and fitting.
The electrifying chorus kicks in as Nightreign introduces its new class, the Revenant, showcasing her summoning abilities. Fans of the original open-world game will notice the Revenant shares a striking resemblance to the dolls found in Elden Ring, which are used to anchor spirits to the mortal realm. Appropriately, the Revenant wields a unique combat style that focuses on necromancy and life-saving support spells. She has the power to grant temporary immortality to her teammates and even revive those on the brink of death. And yes, she’s also displaying her feet, as one might expect.
In our February preview of the game, we highlighted how Nightreign takes the foundational elements of Elden Ring and expands them into a more dynamic arena experience. Like its predecessor, Nightreign focuses on formidable bosses that pose significant challenges. However, this time, players join forces with two companions and are placed in a randomly generated environment. They must navigate their surroundings while avoiding a toxic storm that gradually pushes them into an area where a formidable enemy will emerge. Players will need to make quick decisions and sprint to survive, as there won’t be time to defeat every opponent or gather resources.
Elden Ring Nightreign is set to launch on May 30. If you find the idea of “Bring Me To Life” unappealing, you can always check out the more mainstream launch trailer instead:
