Are you curious about the uncertain ending of Daredevil: Born Again and wondering when we’ll see a second season? Given the seven-year gap between the last episode of Netflix’s Daredevil and this year’s Daredevil: Born Again, it’s understandable if you expect a lengthy wait. However, there’s exciting news: Disney Plus’ more MCU-integrated Daredevil series is set to return much sooner than you might expect for a comic book TV show. And rumor has it, there might even be a third season in the works.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2: Release Date
Marvel Studios has already revealed plans for a second season of Daredevil: Born Again, scheduled for August 2024. This isn’t entirely surprising, as the original concept was a finite 18-episode series. Though production hit a pause due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes, Marvel opted to revamp the series, including some rewrites and reshoots of what had already been filmed.
According to an interview with Marvel Studios’ head of streaming, Brad Winderbaum, in February, filming for the second season’s eight episodes began in early March, with a target to release in early 2026. Winderbaum expressed hope for annual new seasons of Daredevil, but a third season hasn’t been officially confirmed. However, The Hollywood Reporter indicates a solo TV special for Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is in the pipeline for 2026.
Season 2’s Premise
While specifics are scarce, we know that Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen), Wilson Bethel (Bullseye), Clark Johnson (Cherry), Genneya Walton (BB Urich), and Michael Gandolfini (Daniel) will reprise their roles, suggesting their storylines will develop further. Surprisingly, Elden Henson (Foggy) is also set to return, despite his character being dead. His reappearance could be through flashbacks, dreams, or even a supernatural comeback in typical Marvel fashion.

How Does Fisk Leave Office in the Comics?
The show’s finale begs the question of how Matt Murdock can overcome Fisk, given his criminal and institutional power. The answer, suggested by the episode, lies in the unity of Matt’s allies, both vigilantes and ordinary citizens. For those curious about the comic storyline, Daredevil: Born Again draws from Charles Soule’s 2015 Daredevil run where Wilson Fisk becomes mayor and deals with a killer/graffiti artist named Muse. When Soule stepped down in 2018, Fisk retained his power.
Fisk’s eventual departure as mayor occurs in the Devil’s Reign storyline by Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto, where a city attorney witnesses him committing a crime. No direct departure is guaranteed for the series, though a similar revelation could topple Fisk. Alternatively, Matt Murdock might undermine Fisk’s legislation using his roles both as Daredevil and district attorney, which might retain Fisk’s mayoral position but thwart his anti-superhuman agenda.
Stay tuned for these thrilling developments in 2026!
