Apple Unveils Five-Part Docuseries Celebrating...

Legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese, known for directing numerous documentaries throughout his illustrious 60-year career, will now have his own life story featured in a documentary series on Apple TV Plus. According to Apple’s announcement, the five-part series titled Mr. Scorsese will delve into the director’s exploration of themes such as “the nature of good and evil in humanity,” drawing connections from his earliest student projects at New York University.

While Apple has yet to disclose a release date, the series will be directed by Rebecca Miller, known for her works She Came to Me and Personal Velocity. Per Apple’s statement, Mr. Scorsese will feature “exclusive, unrestricted access to Scorsese’s private archives,” along with in-depth interviews with the filmmaker himself, where he reflects on how his personal experiences have shaped his cinematic creations.

The documentary series will showcase “never-before-seen interviews” with Scorsese’s close friends, family members, and artistic collaborators, including prominent figures such as Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mick Jagger, Robbie Robertson, Steven Spielberg, and Daniel Day-Lewis, who is also married to Rebecca Miller.

“Scorsese’s work and life are incredibly expansive and captivating, which is why this project evolved from one part to five over five years,” commented Miller. “Creating this documentary with my dedicated collaborators has been one of the most significant experiences of my career as a filmmaker.”
