Berserk Meets Sanctuary: Epic Crossover Unveiled in Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal this May!

Last Friday, Blizzard unveiled a teaser trailer for an exciting new collaboration between the renowned dark fantasy manga, Berserk, created by Kentaro Miura, and the popular games Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal. On Tuesday, further details about this crossover event were released, which is scheduled to launch on May 1 for Diablo Immortal and May 6 for Diablo 4.

In a blog post on the official Diablo 4 website, Blizzard described Berserk as a story set in a medieval dark fantasy world, focused on themes of betrayal, revenge, and sacrifice intertwined with formidable monsters. “Join us in celebrating Berserk with exclusive limited-time cosmetics that allow players to channel these legendary figures. Adorn your characters with war relics, icons of ambition, and symbols of vengeance—become a part of the saga.”

Players of Diablo 4 can collect Behelits, the ominous egg-shaped entities from Berserk that grant devastating powers to their holders, by defeating powerful foes within the game. These Behelits will serve as a unique form of currency, exchangeable at the newly introduced “Berserk Reliquary” in the Diablo 4 store for Berserk-themed cosmetics, including the Hawk’s Destiny Back Trophy, the Skull Knight’s Heraldry Mount Armor, and the Brand of Sacrifice Marking.

Collecting all items in the Reliquary will reward players with the Od of the Berserker Emblem. Additionally, players can purchase Berserk-inspired costumes, such as Berserker armor for the Barbarian, Skull Knight armor for the Necromancer, and the Hawk of Light Armor and Struggler costume set for the Rogue. New addition to the store includes a companion pet and mount, the Schnoz and the Warhorse of the Hawk.

In Diablo Immortal, players will face off against Nosferatu Zodd, the notorious demon apostle of the God Hand, in an engaging new boss battle. Log-in rewards will be available, featuring cosmetics, crests, and class-specific weaponry, along with the chance to earn Berserk-themed loot such as the Crimson Behelit Gem, which unlocks an even more formidable encounter with Zodd. Furthermore, players can venture into the Eclipse, the infamous nightmare realm depicted in Berserk, through the Survivor’s Bane Event, battling relentless hordes as they strive to escape the sacrifice that befell the Band of the Hawk.

Kentaro Miura, the mastermind behind Berserk, sadly passed away in 2021. However, on June 7, 2022, Hakusensha, the Japanese publisher of Berserk, announced that the series will continue under the guidance of Kouji Mori, Miura’s friend and collaborator, who will utilize notes, character designs, and plans left behind by Miura.
