Dungeons & Dragons is actively partnering with some of the most prominent third-party publishers of 5E content to enhance its D&D Beyond digital platform. This integration simplifies the management of various sourcebooks for Dungeon Masters and enables players to add unofficial classes, feats, and spells directly to their virtual character sheets. Earlier this month, D&D Beyond integrated Ruins of Symbaroum, following the addition of Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting in March. The newest entry to the toolkit is The Crooked Moon, a folk-horror adventure inspired by the actual-play series Edge of Midnight from Legends of Avantris.
This ambitious offering includes a 350-page adventure that guides characters from levels 1 to 13 through the eerie realm of Wickermoor Hollow, where they will journey on the Ghostlight Express to confront the Crooked Man. This campaign is packed with 85 monsters inspired by folklore and introduces unique mechanisms for multiphase boss encounters, complete with minions and dynamic environments.
To amplify the horror elements, players can explore a range of new subclasses and species. Rangers can evolve into Grim Harbingers, warlocks can choose the Horned King as their patron, and players can embody unique beings such as the pumpkin-headed Harvestborn or the rat-like Plagueborn. Additionally, new spells, rituals, items, and a Fateweaving system to connect characters and intertwine them with folklore are also included.
If you prefer a physical copy of the book, preorders can be made at thecrookedmoon.com, with fulfillment expected this fall alongside retail availability.
