The Parasight studio has unveiled its latest title, Davy x Jones, which promises to deliver an exhilarating experience reminiscent of “Doom,” but with a swashbuckling twist. In this adventure, you’ll step into the shoes of the notorious pirate Davy Jones, who must navigate his way out of The Locker—an underworld for pirates—after facing betrayal, theft, and, to top it all off, decapitation. In Davy x Jones, the narrative cleverly splits Jones into two entities: his headless body works in tandem with his floating skull to seek vengeance against the villainous Blackbeard.
The reveal trailer showcases intense confrontations against grotesque pirate foes and a fearsome sea monster. Armed with a traditional pirate arsenal—complete with a gun, sword, and grappling hook—Jones can even use Davy’s head as a projectile against adversaries.
Players will also take command of Abby, a unique creature that is part ship, part whale, serving as “your base, your artillery, and your ally.” You can enlist legendary Officers to man her deck and unleash powerful abilities like CANNONS during battles,” a press release elaborates. The trailer portrays Abby under assault by a colossal squid monster housed within a massive skull, hinting at the possibility of epic ship versus monster encounters in the game.
Davy x Jones currently lacks a specific release date or confirmed platforms, only stating “PC & Consoles.” The Parasight studio previously developed Blacktail, released in 2022, which immersed players in the fabled world of Baba Yaga.
