Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 – Everything You Need to Know

Daredevil/Matt Murdock stands in a dark and grimy room where the walls are covered in drawings of screaming an mutilated faces in Daredevil: Born Again.

Are you concerned about the ambiguous conclusion of Daredevil: Born Again and eager to know when the series might return for a second season? Considering the seven-year gap between Netflix’s final Daredevil episode and this year’s Daredevil: Born Again, it’s understandable if you assume the wait could be lengthy.

Fortunately, Disney Plus has plans for their more MCU-integrated Daredevil series to make a swift return, especially in the context of comic book TV shows. There’s even a hint that a third season could be in the works soon.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2: When Will It Premiere?

In August 2024, Marvel Studios confirmed the development of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. This isn’t too surprising since the show was initially intended to be a finite 18-episode series. Despite a production pause during the 2023 Hollywood strikes, Marvel executives decided to revamp the show, making changes to some pre-shot content.

Marvel Studios head of streaming, Brad Winderbaum, shared with The Reel Roundup in February that filming for the second season’s eight episodes would kick off in early March, with the premiere expected in early 2026. Winderbaum added, "Hopefully, we’ll be able to expect a new Daredevil season annually." While there’s no official word on a third season, a standalone TV special featuring Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is slated for release in 2026, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

What Will Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Explore?

Though specifics are scarce, confirmed returning cast members include Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Vincent D’Onofrio (Kingpin), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen), Wilson Bethel (Bullseye), Clark Johnson (Cherry), Genneya Walton (BB Urich), and Michael Gandolfini (Daniel). Therefore, their narratives are expected to continue.

Elden Henson is also set to reprise his role as Foggy, despite his character’s death. This could hint at flashbacks, dreams, hallucinations, or something more fantastical, like Matt journeying to hell to retrieve Foggy, as can happen in the Marvel Comics universe.

How Does Fisk Exit Office in the Comics?

The burning question after Daredevil: Born Again is how Matt Murdock can defeat a man with both criminal and official power. The finale suggests that victory lies in the combined efforts of his allies, both vigilantes and civilians.

For those curious about the comic book storyline, Charles Soule’s 2015 Daredevil run heavily influences Born Again, where Wilson Fisk became mayor. However, Fisk retained his power in Soule’s storyline, with his mayoralty concluding during the Devil’s Reign arc by Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto.

Born Again might not mirror this exactly but could feature a righteous witness exposing Fisk’s brutality to oust him from Gracie Mansion. Alternatively, the show could echo a different narrative arc, reflecting Matt’s efforts to thwart Fisk’s plans without fully dethroning his reign, as seen in Soule’s run.

We’ll uncover these potential storylines in 2026!
