Echoes of Innovation: The Kenji Eno Vinyl Anthology

Publisher Lost in Cult has announced the release of a seven-disc vinyl collection honoring the work of game designer Kenji Eno. This set, titled Kenji Eno 55: Soundworks, will feature 55 tracks showcasing Eno’s contributions to games such as Enemy Zero, D2, and others.

As detailed in a press release, the collection will include "remastered classic soundtracks, archival recordings, and previously unreleased tracks" that narrate the story of Eno’s career. Lost in Cult will also offer standalone soundtracks for Real Sound, Enemy Zero, and D2.

Kenji Eno was a designer, composer, and the founder of Warp Inc. and From Yellow to Orange studios. He gained recognition for his unique approach to both game design and marketing—developing an audio-only Saturn game, personally delivering limited edition copies of Enemy Zero to fans, and transforming the PlayStation logo into the Saturn logo at a PlayStation event to announce his transition from Sony to Sega.

Eno passed away in 2013 and would have been 55 years old today.

In 2024, the YouTube channel Archipel released an in-depth documentary, nearly 80 minutes long, that explores Eno’s career. It features interviews with friends, family members, and colleagues, including Hideo Kojima and Fumito Ueda. It is highly recommended viewing.

Pre-orders for Kenji Eno 55: Soundworks will be available beginning May 5.
