In a landscape saturated with first-person shooters, many titles can easily blend into one another. However, Mouse: P.I. For Hire stands out thanks to its remarkably distinctive art style. Imagine Cuphead but with even more explosive action and an army of mice to eliminate.
The game features striking hand-drawn monochromatic visuals paired with a vibrant jazz soundtrack. Set in a gritty 1930s noir world, you will navigate a city teeming with corruption. The storyline might seem serious at first until you see the main character equipped with a comically oversized arsenal.
From classic Tommy guns to dynamite, you’ll also find amusing items like a can of spinach and finger guns in your toolkit. Each weapon comes with its own playful animation, making Mouse: P.I. resemble an interactive cartoon where every demise is humorously exaggerated. I’m all in for this experience.
While there’s no confirmed release date just yet, the game is set to launch on all major modern platforms, including the Nintendo Switch 2. It was recently featured during Six One Indie, an hour-long showcase that introduced 48 diverse indie titles across various genres, which you can explore here.
