A new Star Wars theatrical release is coming soon — and this time, there’s a fixed premiere date. During the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, Lucasfilm revealed Star Wars: Starfighter, a standalone movie set five years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker.
The film is being helmed by Shawn Levy, known for his work on Deadpool & Wolverine, with Ryan Gosling set to star. Production is scheduled to start this fall, and the movie is slated to premiere in theaters on May 28th, 2027. Described as “an entirely new adventure,” it will introduce brand-new characters and explore a timeline that has not yet been depicted on screen.
