The Parasight has announced its upcoming game, Davy x Jones, which promises a thrilling experience reminiscent of “Doom but make it pirates.” In this adventure, players assume the role of the notorious pirate Davy Jones, who seeks to escape The Locker—an underworld for pirates—after being betrayed, robbed, and beheaded. The gameplay features a unique twist, as Jones is divided into two characters: his headless body must collaborate with his floating skull to take vengeance on their foe, Blackbeard.
The reveal trailer showcases intense encounters between the duo and various monstrous foes, including hellish pirates and a formidable shark creature. Players will have access to an array of pirate weaponry, such as a gun, a sword, and a grappling hook, while Davy’s head can even be utilized as a projectile against adversaries.
Furthermore, players will command Abby, a unique character that is part ship and part whale, serving as “your base, your artillery, and your ally.” According to the game’s press release, players can recruit legendary Officers to crew Abby and unleash powerful abilities, including devastating cannon fire in combat. The trailer hints at thrilling encounters, showcasing Abby under attack from a massive squid residing within a giant skull, suggesting ship vs. monster battles may play a role in the game.
As of now, Davy x Jones does not have a confirmed release date or specific platforms beyond “PC & Consoles.” The Parasight’s previous project, 2022’s Blacktail, allowed players to step into the role of Baba Yaga.
