Harry Potter Reimagined: Trio of Young Stars...

HBO’s forthcoming Harry Potter series is set to unveil a fresh cast of young heroes tasked with saving the world.

Today, HBO revealed that newcomers Dominic McLaughlin (Grow), Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout will star in the new series produced by J.K. Rowling. McLaughlin will take on the role of Harry, Stanton will portray Hermione Granger, and Stout is set to play Ron Weasley. In a statement regarding the casting, Harry Potter showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director/executive producer Mark Mylod expressed their excitement about finally finding their lead trio after “an extraordinary search” that involved “tens of thousands of children” auditioning for the parts.

“The talent of these three exceptional actors is truly remarkable, and we can’t wait for audiences to witness their magic together on screen,” said Gardiner and Mylod. “It has been a genuine pleasure to uncover such a wealth of young talent.”

Earlier, HBO announced that John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, Paapa Essiedu, Nick Frost, Luke Thallon, and Paul Whitehouse have been cast to portray Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall, Severus Snape, Rubeus Hagrid, and Quirinus Quirrell in the new Harry Potter series. While several key characters still remain to be cast, securing the core trio brings us closer to HBO’s vision of reigniting Harry Potter excitement for another decade.
