Epic has just revealed the upcoming launch of “Dance with Sabrina,” a new rhythm-based gaming mode in Fortnite Festival, set to run from May 30th to June 16th. This mode is billed as a “reimagined interactive music experience” that will challenge players at the Festival Jam Stage to boost their heart meters by syncing their actions to the beats of Carpenter’s tracks, including “Espresso” and “Bed Chem,” as her avatar performs live.
By accumulating hearts, players will have the opportunity to “contribute to the show” in one of three roles during the next song: Dance Leader, Special Effects Pro, or Video Artist. Those who expertly hit the most beats throughout the event will be featured alongside Carpenter’s avatar in the final snapshot of Dance With Sabrina.
While incorporating some Just Dance-like movements could have added a fun element to Fortnite, Dance with Sabrina appears to emphasize timed button prompts combined with some expressive emotes. Although it may not sound thrilling at first glance, this initiative showcases Epic’s ongoing experimentation to discover what resonates with players.
