“Borderlands 4 is shipping earlier due to our confidence in the game and its development trajectory, which is supported by our ability to tackle tasks and resolve bugs efficiently,” tweeted Pitchford on Tuesday. “Our decision is in no way influenced by the actual or projected launch dates of any other products.”
“We have tremendous confidence in the game and are prepared to launch early; it didn’t make sense to delay. The sooner we release, the quicker we can gather player feedback. We value input and are excited to engage with players as we continue developing our post-launch plans.”
Gearbox is anticipated to unveil more about Borderlands 4 during its dedicated State of Play presentation, set for 5 p.m. ET this Thursday. The 20-minute showcase will include “developer-guided gameplay, showcasing missions, powerful weapons, exciting Action Skills, new and returning characters, and much more,” according to a news release.
