Nvidia has launched another hotfix driver aimed at resolving issues with its RTX 50-series GPUs. The new 576.26 hotfix driver is an update to the earlier 576.02 release, which already included numerous bug fixes and crash repairs.
This hotfix incorporates all the solutions from the 576.15 hotfix issued last week, which notably includes a resolution for the newly discovered GPU temperature issue. Additionally, it rectifies flickering problems in Forza Horizon 5, track corruption in Forza Motorsport, and random crashes of Black Myth: Wukong on RTX 50-series graphics cards. There are also several improvements for games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Forbidden West, Dead Island 2, and Resident Evil 4 Remake on RTX 50-series GPUs.
Furthermore, Nvidia claims to have addressed ongoing black screen issues affecting various LG monitors when used in DisplayPort 2.1 mode. The update also tackles "grey screen crashes with multiple monitors" and momentary display flickering that occurred when running high refresh rates in DisplayPort 2.1 mode on RTX 50-series cards.
This marks Nvidia’s fifth hotfix release in just a few months, which is highly unusual and highlights the ongoing issues users have experienced with RTX 50-series GPUs since their launch in January. Just a week ago, I noted the state of Nvidia’s GPU drivers, and here we see another hotfix aimed at addressing the persistent problems.
This situation starkly contrasts with three years ago when Nvidia confidently promoted its driver quality and criticized AMD for offering beta drivers. In April 2022, Nvidia stated, “We don’t release sub-par beta drivers with minimal testing, let alone multiple conflicting beta drivers forked from different development branches that support different games and products and confuse customers.”
