This doesn’t mean that modding Oblivion is off the table—you absolutely can mod the game. Bethesda has previously provided official tools to support the modding community. According to their support site, “Mods are not officially supported for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.” They also advise, “If you encounter gameplay issues while using mods, it’s recommended to first uninstall your mods and then verify your game files on Steam or the Xbox App.”
Regardless of the lack of official support, modders are already making strides with Oblivion Remastered. The game was released less than a day ago, yet over 100 mods are already available on popular modding platform NexusMods. These mods range from “engine tweaks” and game optimizations to additions like a difficulty slider and vibrant reshades.
