While many Tamagotchi devices still focus on nurturing a single digital pet, the innovative Tamagotchi Paradise puts you in charge of an entire planet brimming with eager inhabitants. Featuring a vibrant color screen, this new device simplifies gameplay with three buttons and a side dial that allows you to zoom in, ranging from a view of the entire planet down to the cellular level of your virtual companions.
Set to launch in Japan on July 12, 2025, at a price of $45, Tamagotchi Paradise begins with an exciting event known as the Egg Bang, where you hatch an entire planet. Once your planet is ready, you can explore one of three distinct ecosystems—land, water, or sky—within the Tama Fields. The specific ecosystem you start with is determined by the color variant of the Tamagotchi Paradise you choose, but all three can eventually be unlocked as you progress.
Each Tama Field influences the growth and evolution of your Tamagotchi characters through various activities and food options. The game features over 50 unique Tamagotchis categorized into 12 different species that can sprout from eggs, but Tamagotchi Paradise takes it further with a breeding system that allows two compatible characters to produce new Tamagotchis with an astounding 50,000 potential combinations. Additionally, you can connect two Tamagotchi Paradise devices, enabling characters from each world to interact, leading to friendships, rivalries, and even encounters involving pranks or battles.
If managing a planet full of virtual pets weren’t challenging enough, the device’s dial allows you to zoom in on individual Tamagotchis at the cellular level, which is essential for their care and recovery when they fall ill. While this might sound overwhelming, remember that unlike real-life children or pets, if the pressures of caretaking become too much, you can always take a break by easily removing the AAA batteries from the device.
