Revamped YouTube TV: Fresh Design and Enhanced Multiview Features!

Do you appreciate the concept of multiview but desire it beyond just March Madness and NFL Sunday Ticket? You’re in luck! YouTube has announced that in the coming weeks, YouTube TV subscribers will have the opportunity to experiment with “creating their own multiview experience with selected non-sports content.”

This feature will initially be available for a “limited selection of popular channels” and will expand over the upcoming months, as stated in a release sent to The Verge. When inquired whether any networks declined to participate, YouTube representative Allison Toh informed The Verge via email that the company intends to broaden it “to a wide range of networks across all content genres.”

Moreover, the YouTube app for TVs is also set for a redesign, featuring “simpler navigation, enhanced playback quality, and streamlined access to comments, channel information, and subscription options.” According to a report from The Information in March, this redesign might make the app resemble Netflix more closely and could place paid subscriptions directly on the app’s homepage. This adjustment appears logical, given that usage of YouTube on TVs has surpassed that on mobile devices.

Lastly, the company has announced the rollout of a 4x playback speed option for YouTube Premium subscribers using iOS and Android devices, a feature it began testing back in January.
