Sennheiser has unveiled its first set of open earbuds within the affordable Accentum range, but the value of this offering varies significantly depending on your location. Customers in the US will face a higher price, likely due to increased import costs stemming from recent tariffs implemented during the Trump administration.
The Accentum Open earbuds are priced at $129.95 for US customers when shipping begins in early June. In contrast, Canadian consumers can purchase them for CAD$149.95 (approximately $109), while they are already available in Europe for €89.90 (around $102) and in the UK for £69.99 (about $93). Notably, the European prices include VAT, highlighting a significant price disparity.
For reference, when Sennheiser released the Accentum True Wireless earbuds last year at $199.99, they retailed for CAD$279.95 (around $203 based on current exchange rates), €199.99 (approximately $227), and £169.99 (also about $227).
These Accentum Open earbuds mark Sennheiser’s first foray into “open” true wireless designs, which do not block the ear canals, allowing users to remain aware of their environment. Their design pays homage to the original AirPods, which has become a popular choice among audio manufacturers as a counterpoint to the isolating effect of active noise-cancelling models.
Equipped with 11mm drivers and dual beamforming microphones for phone calls, the Accentum Open earbuds offer 6.5 hours of playback on a single charge, extending to a total of 28 hours when including the charging case. Moreover, they support fast charging, providing 90 minutes of playtime after just 10 minutes of charging, and feature multipoint connectivity for simultaneous connection to two devices.
