Following a teaser during the September 2023 announcement for Netflix’s One Piece season 2, Tony Tony Chopper, the lovable reindeer doctor of the Straw Hat crew, has officially joined the adventure. The streaming platform unveiled Chopper’s “live-action” design during its 2025 Tudum event. Additionally, they confirmed that actress Mikaela Hoover (Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3, July’s Superman) will provide the voice and motion capture for Chopper.
Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, has expressed excitement about his collaboration with Netflix, describing it as his “last opportunity” to share the manga with a broader audience. He has previously announced Chopper’s role in the season 2 cast. What would One Piece be without the clever doctor? Chopper has been a key player throughout Monkey D. Luffy’s journey to become the ultimate pirate, and his transformations over the years have been integral to Oda’s evolving vision for this long-standing series.
