Microchips in Blue Prince are essential for unlocking part of the game’s post-credits mystery, even though they aren’t needed to reach Room 46.
To discover the Microchips, you must first access the Blackbridge Grotto, a permanent addition to the game. There, you’ll find three Microchips, and collecting all of them allows you to complete a unique puzzle.

How to Access Blackbridge Grotto in Blue Prince
Unlock Blackbridge Grotto by solving the Laboratory puzzles. Begin by drafting both the Laboratory and Boiler Room, then route power to the Laboratory. Solve the periodic table puzzle to activate the machinery, which our Laboratory puzzles guide can assist you with.
Finding the First Microchip in Blue Prince
Once Blackbridge Grotto is accessible, you can locate the first Microchip. Head outside and take a left toward the Campsite or Apple Orchard. You’ll notice a newly opened door leading to Blackbridge Grotto, where you’ll find a pedestal with three overlapping circles. The first Microchip is nestled in the smallest circle—ensure it remains there.
Clues for Microchip #2 and #3 in Blue Prince
Uncovering the remaining Microchips involves finding clues, notably in a book titled “A New Clue.” Draft a Bookstore to purchase it for 50 coins, then read it by drafting a Library.
The book provides two critical clues: an illustration on page 15 depicting the protagonist amidst a grid resembling Mount Holly, and a coded message on page 6. The coded message states, “All checked corner case rooms had a low case clue found in the rooms.”
Back on page 5, a "Corner Cases" list indicates rooms with checked notes. Each note contains one lowercase word, compiling the message: “Buried beside west bridge.”

Using a Sledgehammer, break the vases on the south side of the Entrance Hall to disclose the second Microchip.
Third Microchip Location in Blue Prince
Referring to "A New Clue," the final Microchip is buried beside the west bridge, along the West Path leading to the Outer Room.
Bring a Shovel and, en route to the Outer Room, veer right. You’ll spot a dig icon, marking the spot for the third Microchip.

Return the Microchips to Blackbridge Grotto to initiate a cutscene, revealing a new room behind the server area.
