While you can choose other characters to play supportive roles, such as the Guardian or Raider, the Revenant stands out as the only character specifically crafted to assist their party during expeditions. Despite her themes revolving around death and reanimation, she exudes an ethereal and magical presence. The Revenant is one of the more intricate classes in Elden Ring Nightreign, making her a valuable addition to your roster as your team shouldn’t solely focus on damage output.
Below, you’ll find instructions on how to unlock the Revenant class in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Unlocking the Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign
To unlock the Revenant, you must first obtain the Duchess. Once the Duchess is unlocked, you will have access to acquire the Besmirched Frame relic, which initiates the process of adding the Revenant to your lineup of Nightfarers.

Steps to unlock the Revenant in Elden Ring Nightreign
Before you can unlock the Revenant, ensure you have first unlocked the Duchess. After doing so, you can purchase the Besmirched Frame for 1,500 Murk at the Small Jar Bazaar located in the western wing of the Roundtable Hold. (You can also fast travel to the Bazaar using the map menu.)
Upon purchasing the Besmirched Frame, a young woman’s phantom will appear in the east wing of the Roundtable Hold. Interacting with her will transport you back to the tutorial area, where you must face the Night Idol boss (the Revenant along with three spectral summons) using your currently selected character. Defeating this formidable foe will unlock the Revenant for all future expeditions.
Tips for defeating the Night Idol
Taking down the Night Idol can be quite challenging, as it pits you against four enemies. The optimal strategy is to confront each phantom individually, maintaining a distance from the Night Idol to avoid being struck by her long-range spell (Triple Rings of Light).
Start by luring the weakest spirit, Helen the Page, and eliminate her. Next, engage Frederick the Pumpkin Head while keeping a safe distance from the Night Idol. Finally, defeat Sebastian the Giant Skeleton. Once you’ve dealt with all phantoms, focus your attacks on the Night Idol, either using ranged options like arrows and magic or applying pressure up close.
