Xbox Game Pass Embraces Nostalgia with a Retro...

Xbox has partnered with Antstream Arcade to introduce Retro Classics, a collection that grants all Game Pass subscribers access to over 50 Activision titles, including fan favorites like “Commando,” “Grand Prix,” “Kaboom!,” “Mech Warrior 2: 31st Century Combat,” and “Pitfall,” as reported by Xbox.

This initiative is part of a broader “commitment to game preservation and backwards compatibility.” The classic titles will be accessible on consoles, PCs, and various cloud gaming-supported devices. This includes Xbox consoles, the Xbox app for PC, select LG and Samsung smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV devices, and Meta Quest headsets. To enjoy Retro Classics, users need to download it through their Game Pass membership.

Gamers can also challenge friends, compete with rivals, or engage with the larger community via unique challenges. Additionally, the service allows for saving and reloading game progress, a feature touted as a first for many classic titles, according to Xbox. More games from Activision and Blizzard are on the way, with plans to expand the collection to over 100 titles in the future.
